Je’Rean Blake’s Mother Asks For Equal Justice
JeRean Blake was shot to death outside a party store, after leaving his high school where he was preparing to graduate. According to the Detroit Crime Examiner, the teen was executed because of an argument.

Over the past couple of days the nation has been rocked and outraged by the news of 7-year-old Aiyana Jones, who was killed during a police raid in Detroit, MI.
During the raid, police were looking for a suspect, Chauney Owens, in connection to the murder of 17-year-old high school student JeRean Blake, that happened days before.
According to JeRean’s family, as news began to surface about the tragedy of Aiyana Jones, little attention was being paid to JeRean’s murder.
Metro Detroit reports Blake’s mother, Lyvonne Cargill, called into the radio program “Your Voice With Angelo Henderson” asking for equal justice for her son.
During the conversation, Cargill talked about details of the matter.

“They don’t talk about my son. They talk all about the 7-year-old. What about my son? My son needs to get buried, too,” she said.
JeRean Blake was shot to death outside a party store after leaving his high school. Blake was only a few days away from graduating.
According to the Detroit Crime Examiner, the teen was executed because of an argument.
The Southeastern High School student was hanging with others outside an east side store when the suspect approached the group on a moped (scooter).
Blake and the suspect, described as between 25 and 35 years old, became embroiled in an argument. The man on the moped promised to return before he left.
He did. The suspect arrived in an SUV, and his purpose was not to continue the argument. He got out of the SUV and pumped two rounds into Blake’s chest in what can only be described as an execution.
The family has created a memorial page on Facebook in honor of JeRean Blake – He Has A Name – Je’Rean Blake (Facebook Profile) to bring awareness to the senseless murder.
Cargill says donations to pay for an upcoming funeral and her son’s cremation can be made at Southeastern High School by calling (313) 866-4500.

Mother what can I say besides my heart goes out to you. This scum was hiding the killer and his daughter paid the price. No one is talking about him hiding the killer. Why won't they talk about him hiding the killer? I don't know, but whatever you do I will support you.

It's a shame that our young people are being so SENSELESSLY killed. Shameful indeed.
I did not know the full details behind what occurred in the killing of these two young people
but as more and more details emerge…it appears that the two incidents are very much so intertwined. If the father of Aiyana was indeed “harboring” the murderer of Jerean Blake then HE is complicit in the murder of his own child. That is deplorable to say the least.
