To much surprise, 25-year-old Casey Anthony, who was accused of the 2008 murder of her daughter Caylee, was found not guilty on first degree murder. She was also acquitted of aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

Casey Anthony not guilty

Anthony was only found guilty of providing false information to law enforcement. She has already served three years in prison during the trial which will count when she is sentenced on Thursday July 7th.

Case

The case received national attention in 2008, when Caylee went missing and her skeletal remains found 5 months later. Her mother, Casey Anthony, did not report her missing daughter and was subsequently charged with felony murder though she maintained her innocence.

After lying for years about what happened, and even making up a story about a babysitter taking her, Casey finally came up with a story saying Caylee drowned in the families swimming pool. She found the body. Her and her father panicked, and disposed of the body.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Casey Anthony got away with murder?
