NBA Lockout : Players receive revised deal

This NBA lockout is getting intense.
After hours of deliberating, NBA players left a midtown Manhattan hotel Friday (Nov. 11th) not knowing what to do. If the players do not accept the deal, the next offer will be to drop the players split 47 percent. This would be a terrible situation for players, leading a decertification effort that has been building over the weeks.
The season would be revised. The plan is asking for a free-agency signing period, teams to have training, and some pre-season games. The league also states it may have to revise its Christmas Day games, which includes the Knicks hosting Boston.
After two days of negotiations, neither side wanted to go that far ahead with hopes the end of lockup is near.
“It’s not the greatest proposal in the world,” said Billy Hunter, the NBA Players Association executive director. “But I have an obligation to present it to our team representatives.”
Owners have been pushing for a 50-50 split and have offered players the ability to make between 49 and 51%. But players have been opposed to that offer. If they do, they would be losing close to $300 million annually in salaries after pocketing 57% of the revenue since 2005-06.
