Not only was Douglas the first African American woman to win an all-around gold medal, she is also the first American to win both an individual and team medal at the same Olympics.

But that’s not where Douglas’ mind was yesterday. “I kind of forgot about that,” Douglas told the Associated Press, when asked how it felt to be the first black gymnast to win an all-around gold. “Man, that’s awesome, that’s definitely an amazing feeling. I forgot about that.”

Go head Golden girl!
