The hip-hop world is mourning the loss of one of the music industry’s great business minds, Chris Lighty.

As there are many rumors on what happened, New York City’s medical examiner released details surrounding the music mogul’s death.

According to NY Daily News, the death has been ruled a suicide:

An autopsy revealed that Lighty, 44, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, a spokeswoman from the city’s medical examiner said.

Chris Lighty — a veteran manager who helped the careers of 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Sean (Diddy) Combs and Mariah Carey — was found dead behind his South Riverdale home after an argument with his estranged wife on Thursday, sources said.

He had been arguing with his 36-year-old wife, Veronica, as he packed boxes to move out of the W. 232nd St. townhouse, the sources said.

His 17-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son left the home amid the spat and went to a park nearby to let the couple cool off, sources said.

But during the heated argument, Chris Lighty said, “I’m tired of this,” before walking out to the backyard and shooting himself in the head, sources said.
