It is no surprise we’re lovers of web series. Last year we featured the top web series that took the internet by storm in 2013.

Fresh into the new year, new web series have surfaced or ones that started late in 2013 have blossomed and have the critics talking.

Are you looking for some quality content beyond the television screen? Here are five web series you don’t want to miss.

1. Pursuit of Sexiness Web Series

Comedienne newcomers Nicole Byer (Girl Code) and Sasheer Zameeta (SNL) bring a funny series about life and dating. It’s great to see both women making strides in their career as I’ve been following both. Nicole Byer is a Jersey native, with whom I’ve had the pleasure of growing up with in church. Keep doing your things ladies!

2. Life With Jeannie

Rapper Jean Grae brings a very comedic series surrounding her life. Life With Jeannie gives you glimpse of who the rapper is beyond the music.

3. Studville TV web series

Studville TV is in its second season, and brings nothing but the drama from where they left off. The series based out of Atlanta, GA follows a group of friends who are lesbians that experience life, trials, and tribulations.

4. Hello Cupid

Hello Cupid just began its second season on Valentine’s Day and continues on after Whitney reveals some interesting news to Cassius. Whitney and Robyn are best friends and they embark on a dating experiment that turns interesting. Created by Lena Waithe and Ashely Blaine Featherson and featuring Ashley and Hayley Marie Norman, this series shows that things and circumstances are still very current.

Black & Sexy TV is asking for $3 for the first episode. It is definitely worth the buy and 30+ minute stream. Support great television.

5.Yellow Web series

This docu-series created by Numa Perrier of Black & Sexy TV follows the life of Austen Jaye (Hello Cupid, RoomieLoverFriends) and his struggles and pleasures of being a light-skin man.
