Marissa Alexander, whose case was followed by thousands feeling injustice on her part, has reached a plea deal and will be a free woman in January.
According to reports, Alexander agreed to a plea deal and will no longer face the threat of a trial or serving 60 years in prison if convicted of three counts of aggravated manslaughter.

Under the terms of the plea deal, Alexander agreed to plead guilty to the three charges against her and serve three years in prison.
Except “three years” will actually only be 65 days.
Alexander has already served 1,030 days in jail for firing what she described as a “warning shot” against her husband Rico Gray back in 2010. She claimed Gray was acting abusive towards her, necessitating the fired shot.
Marissa Alexander’s case was highly publicize that took a look at Florida’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” law.
