Do you act on your feelings or just leave it alone so you won’t complicate the great working relationship the two of you have?

Dear Rude,

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine and something came up about business and pleasure. Do you believe in mixing the two? I mean my friend really likes this person but in some fashion they work together. She’s ready to tell the person “hey I like you”, but I’m saying not so fast.

Do you act on your feelings or just leave it alone so you won’t complicate the great working relationship the two of you have?

Hey Hopeless Romantic,

I have to say I’m not opposed to it. If I’m feeling you I’m feeling you and that’s it. I refuse to miss out on possible love because of business just like I refuse to ruin a friendship because of business.

At the end of the day business doesn’t lay in bed with you at night nor does it please you sexually. There are no rules to life and you have to follow what feels good or right for you. Just because everyone else says not to mix business and pleasure does not at all mean that is what needs to apply to you. In fact I have done so once and we were both adult enough to not mix the two situations. We still handled business and we were still able to maintain a friendship after we realized we weren’t meant to be and neither one of us regretted taking the chance.
