If you follow me on any of my social networking accounts, you know I’ve been truly invested in this Michael Brown case and the #Every28Hours campaign, which highlights Black and brown men & women who have been innocently murdered by police or vigilante.

My last words in every one of my posts ends “it’s time to wake up now”. I am also participating in the #iftheygunnedmedown campaign, which highlights how the media likes to perpetuate information and make you look like a criminal.

For some reason, the media is using Michael Brown’s photo of him throwing a peace sign (calling it a gang sign) instead of using his high school picture in his cap and gown. Like any of that matters anyway.

Whether Michael Brown was an honor student heading to college, someone just simply minding his business walking home, or even had a criminal record, it doesn’t make his killing justified.

I was talking to someone from the St. Louis area, and they said the police have been out of control there for years.

I came across a video on CNN of a Ferguson police officer calling the citizens of its town ‘animals’.

I am not surprised by this officers prejudiced action, and this only goes to show why the people of Ferguson, MO are just simply tired.

It’s time to wake up now!
