There’s Netflix and now there’s KweliTV.

Netflix is probably the most popular streaming provider where you can watch movies, documentaries, and some of your favorite television shows.

I love Netflix and it’s creation of Orange Is The New Black, but I wouldn’t mind tuning into something that is geared toward my people too.

CEO DeShuna Spencer took the concept of Netflix and put a little spin on it: providing a space for Black movies, documentaries, television shows, and other visual content.

KweliTV

The network is called KweliTV, kweli means truth in Swahili. The interactive tv network and app offers documentaries, news programs, original docuseries, educational content and independent films of the global black community that will be accessible through Smart TVs, Internet TV devices, tablets and smartphones and the computer—all on demand, according to their site.

KweliTV doesn’t officially launch until December 2015, but a beta version is available for users to test.

They’re only asking for $19.95 a year, which is a pretty good price considering other platforms. You can also try it for free for 30 days. I feel like this is something great the black community should support. I love to see black entrepreneurs doing it big and doing it well.
