On April 29, 2016, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School students along with Mr. Wronko invited technology coach Tracy Caprioni to attend a special Ghana session on A Knight’s Tale.

A Knight’s Tale Ghana Session

During this session, Tracy Caprioni gave a special lesson on Medieval Knights and combat to the middle school and Ghana students.

He explained through the use of his own knight’s helmet and shield the different maneuvers, strategies, and environment during Medieval conflict. He mentioned also that a knight had to be strong and in great shape because that individual had to swing a heavy sword, carry and block with a heavy shield, and wear a heavy helmet. In addition, he also gave insight on one of Mr. Wronko’s student projects, the Battle of Thermopylae.

Caprioni told the students that back in this time frame that combat was in your face. Your opponent would stand right on top of you with no room to breathe. All the students were amazed by Tracy Caprioni’s presentation and the visuals that he brought in.
