Harley Race, Peter Mayhew: Nothing But Entertaining

This post is in remembrance of two individuals who left the Earth not to long ago, Harley Race and Peter Mayhew.

Harley Race

I would like to begin with Harley Race.

When I was a kid, I remembered Harley Race for being a funny entertaining wrestler.

I also remember him for being a great athlete. For instance, the first time I saw Harley Race was when he battled another wrestler named Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The feud was funny especially when these two fought at an award assembly for wrestlers called the Slammy Awards.

As I got older, I read things about Harley Race I never knew.

I never knew he was a world wrestling champion on numerous occasions. Once I read about this, I found old videos with him defending his title against wrestlers such as Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, and Andre the Giant.

After Harley Race retired from wrestling in the ring, he became a manager of other wrestlers such as Lex Luger and Big Van Vader. Even as a manager he was very entertaining.

Like he did as a wrestler, he gave great interviews regarding taking his wrestlers to world titles. In conclusion, I remember Harley Race as being very entertaining.

Peter Mayhew

Now on to Peter Mayhew who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars movies.

When I saw Star Wars A New Hope as a kid, I remembered seeing Chewbacca for the first time. I was very afraid of the wookiee. However, once I realized he was a good guy, I then became afraid of Darth Vader. As I grew up, I never knew the person who played Chewbacca.

One day I discovered the actor and it was Peter Mayhew. I was amazed how big Peter Mayhew was because I thought it was visual effects that made Chewbacca bigger. Peter Mayhew was 7 feet 3 inches tall. That was amazing. Now I know besides Peter Mayhew that David Prowse, the person inside the Darth Vader costume, was a bodybuilder at 6 feet 6 inches tall.

Like Harley Race, I found Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca very entertaining especially in Star Wars A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi.
