Project Ghana Returns: Memorial Day with A Special Presentation on Ghana’s Military History

After a six-month hiatus, Asbury Park High School Teacher Mr. David Wronko, was able to arrange a special Ghana Session at the 1333 VFW Post in Neptune  New Jersey.

Special Ghana Session at the 1333 VFW Post

In attendance were Wilbur V. Martin, Vietnam Veteran, George Reed, Vietnam Veteran, Marshall Love, Vietnam Veteran, Curtis Stewart, Korean War Veteran, Mrs. Jessica Gualario, Social Studies Teacher for Neptune High School, and Myra Campbell, former Asbury Park Mayor. Each guest introduced themselves and shared their background of experiences.

Honoring veterans and current soldiers

This Ghana session was about remembering those who served and were currently serving.

Young and upcoming speakers from Ghana gave a special presentation about their military history.

The Ghana students presentation consisted of multiple colorful images and backgrounds as well as performing songs that were sung in the military. They went into detail about generals and politicians, who not only made the military great in Ghana, but also made Ghana develop into a strong country. Their presentation also talked about the impact women had in their military and roles they held.

After their presentation, all in attendance at the VFW post and the presenters in Ghana, asked each other numerous questions regarding the roles in the military as well as serving in the United States army.
