On July 26, Jaylen’s family had been unpacking at their new residence in Naples, Florida when they noticed he was missing.
Authorities found 5-year-old Jaylen Saintelien, a nonverbal autistic child, dead in a pond near his family’s new home just one day after he went missing.

On July 26, Jaylen’s family had been unpacking at their new residence in Naples, Florida when they noticed he was missing. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jaylen was last seen sitting on a barstool eating pizza while his mother folded laundry in a nearby bedroom. Moments later, she checked again and discovered he had vanished.
After a brief search of the home and surrounding area, the family called 911. Deputies launched an extensive search operation involving ground patrols, drones, K-9 units, mounted officers, and dive teams. Tragically, authorities discovered Jaylen’s body the following morning, July 27, in a pond near the property.
“We are heartbroken for Jaylen’s family,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “We extend our gratitude to our fellow first responders and the many members of the community who assisted in the search.”
GoFundMe campaign created for support
Jaylen’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign to seek support as they grieve his loss. The fundraiser aims to cover funeral expenses and provide financial relief during this devastating time. Community members have already begun contributing, sharing messages of sympathy and solidarity.
