GoFundMe launched to aid FSU Linebacker Ethan Pritchard’s recovery after tragic shooting

A GoFundMe campaign supporting Florida State linebacker Ethan Pritchard has raised more than $100,000 to aid his recovery efforts.
Pritchard remains in critical condition after a gunman shot him in the head.

The shooting occurred August 31 in Gadsden County, Florida, while Pritchard was driving his aunt home after FSU’s win over Alabama.
According to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened near Havana Heights Apartments at 16th Street and South Main Street.
A gunman shot Pritchard in the back of the head, and doctors at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital are monitoring his brain swelling.
His father, Earl Pritchard, confirmed the injury to WFTV Orlando and said the family is praying for a full recovery.
Community Rallies To Support Ethan Pritchard
In response, the FSU community and broader public have rallied around the young athlete, raising over $120,000 for medical expenses.
Donations continue to pour in through online platforms, showing widespread support for Pritchard and his family during this crisis.
“Ethan is cherished by so many—from his hometown of Sanford, FL, to fans and friends across the entire state. During this unimaginable time, we are asking for your support,” the GoFundMe page reads.
Pritchard, a freshman linebacker, did not play in the game, but coaches already consider him a rising star in the program.
He came to FSU from Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida. Teammates praised his speed and leadership on the field.
Investigation Ongoing
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is leading the investigation and has not released information about a suspect.
Officials are urging the public to avoid speculation as investigators actively gather and review evidence from the shooting.
