You ever wanted to see what real art is like? No gimmicks, or figments. Memoirs of a Starving Artist Showcase was the place to be. Rude T.ee V.ee Productions LLC did it again producing an epic showcase called Memoirs of a Starving Artist.
Memoirs of a Starving Artist, MOASA for short, highlights talented performers from all walks of art life. It was a powerful night bringing people together for the love of art.
Held this year at the Brooklyn Exposure, MOASA, was nothing short of amazing.
The event was hosted by the talented K. Nikki, and music by DeeJay DLite performers poured out their heart and soul to an audience that was ready to listen from artists that needed to be heard.
Speakers of The House started the show right bringing us to our African roots with a touch of hip-hop. Prince Smith blessed the audience with smooth sultry sounds, and D Flemon represented the female lyricists right that night.
A Lyric let us sistas know we’re beautiful no matter what skin were in, and Brooklyn rapper A.R. Stylez took it personal with “Picture Me Rolling”. Steven Que and his crew gave the audience a memorable performance with impressive dance moves. Madam Ambition’s dance routine was just as memorable. X Black Superheroes gave us a taste of a unique appeal, Blaq Dymniz blessed the stage with real raw hip-hop, and Dana Hilliard smashed with her smooth R&B sound.
The night ended with a heartfelt performance by upcoming emcee Y-Rests. It was not only the night for the showcase but the release party of Y-Rests newest mixtape. The New York rapper shared some of his story about life while thanking his wonderful family as they looked on. He thanked Unheard Voices for giving him the inspiration to continue to do music after seeing his mixtape published on the site.
We say, no .. thank you for being a great artist with amazing music. DaRuddest Jones is taking inquires for performers, vendors, sponsors, etc for the next showcase in 2014.
