There’s a powerful winter storm approaching the Northeast. It is estimated to bring up to 2 feet of snow or more in some areas..

In the aftermath of the storm, NYC said it will need some help to dig out the big apple.

Amsterdam News Reports:

As with an major snow event, the city is hiring temporary snow laborers to clear away snow.

Interested snow shovelers can register at any sanitation garage from Monday through Saturday, 7am to 3pm.

The pay to shovel snow is $12 an hour and increases to $18 per hour after working 40 hours a week.

In order to register you must be at least 18 years of age, eligible to work in the United States and able to perform heavy physical labor.

Registrants must bring two small photos (1.5 inch square), similar to those used used for a passport, social security card and a photocopy of the card and two original documents that prove identity and employment eligibility.

You must also provide photocopies of documents like driver’s license, passport or school photo ID.

Payment is made by check and normally takes about 4 to 6 weeks, but can take up to 12 weeks.
