To begin with the League of Women, Patricia Supplee, Luisa Paster, and Donna Mechura gave Mr. Wronko’s students at Asbury Park High School an engaging remote lesson on issues that we deal with today.

Some of the many issues that were brought up were gun control, health care, the environment, helping the unemployed, and the pandemic.

Throughout their presentation, Mr. Wronko students were given tasks on how they could get involved with these issues to help their communities and society as a whole. The students learned they could get involved on the National Level, State Level, and Local Level by organizing town meetings and marches through the use of social media, distribute fliers, and writing to their elected politicians.

Furthermore, the League of Women presenters showed other young people who got involved to make a change. For instance, they showed videos of Greta Thunberg (fighting for the environment), David Hogg (fighting for gun control), Ashton Mota (human rights), and Naomi Osaka (fighting against racism).

Their presentation was very informative and Mr. Wronko’s students learned a lot from their lesson.

Just recently Mr. Wronko and his students at Asbury Park High School had two Ghana Sessions with the students from the Solid Rock Foundation School in Ghana. Both these sessions had multiple topics.

To start with, Mr. Wronko showed the students in Ghana multiple performances from Mrs. Elgart’s chorus. For instance, Mrs. Elgart’s chorus performed at 2020 Black History Month Celebration, Lean On Me by Bill Withers, Jennifer Holliday/And I’m Telling You Dreamgirls, songs from Stevie Wonder, songs from the Supremes, and songs from the Temptations.

In addition, Des’ree’s You Gotta Be was performed through the combination of students from Bradley Elementary School, Thurgood Marshall Elementary School, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, and the Asbury Park High School. This was filmed and spliced together. Through Mrs. Elgart, this was also shown to the students in Ghana.

In addition to Mrs. Elgart’s chorus performances, Mr. Wronko shared a very creative Robot Colony created by Miracle McBride, a paper dealing with the collapse of the Roman Empire by Gerald Nunez-Garcia, A Better America with many famous African American Women who made American culture better, and a presentation about the animation of Ray Harryhausen and because of him you have many science fiction movies of today such as Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and the Monsterverse.

In closing, Mr. Wronko showed a presentation about Mesopotamia’s history and a song describing how Mesopotamai came about.
