On July 6, 2024, 36-year-old Sonya Massey called 911 because she feared a prowler was in her backyard.
Officers responded to Massey’s 911 call. During the brief time in her home, Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Grayson ordered Massey to turn off a pot of boiling water.
When she complied, Grayson’s demeanor quickly changed. While she posed no threat, Grayson shot Massey in the face and killed her after she said, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.”
