Asbury Park, NJ – Asbury Park High School held a workshop in the school library entitled “Fathers Can Make A Difference”.
Heavy emphasis was focused on the father’s hundred percent participation in their child‘s educational growth can make a difference.
Dr. Elnardo Webster, an extended school day specialist, discussed strategies and effective methods to enhance students academic success.
The workshop brought out approximately 35 fathers to hear the message and to teach them these effective methods.
The team is currently working with Dr. Denise Lowe, the Superintendent of schools in Asbury Park, to implement this strategy.
The team talked about the necessity of the students to have an effective place to do their homework. They also introduced several ways fathers could provide the proper environment for their child to do homework.
Dr. Dale Caldwell, CEO and President of RASP (Resident After School Program), talked about his book on “Intelligent Influences” and how it takes the influence of the fathers in order for their child to be successful.
He stressed to the fathers that it is “you that plays a critical influence of young people and they must understand how important and valuable they are” as he thanked them for coming out.
