Soul singer Aretha Franklin, who recently underwent surgery for undisclosed health issues, was reported to have pancreatic cancer.
Before the surgery, the 68-year-old singer canceled all her appearances through May 2011.
A Detroit News report on Wednesday cited a source familiar with the situation on the pancreatic cancer diagnosis, an illness which reported a poor prognosis.
After the surgery, Franklin released a statement on Dec. 2 that she had to undergo surgery.
The iconic singer, known for her hits “Chain of Fools” and “Respect”, had maintained a busy schedule of touring and recording as of late October.
