U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch says there will be an investigation into John Crawford’s death reports WLWT.

During her visit to Cincinnati to discuss police reform, Loretta Lynch met with the family of John Crawford III.

Crawford’s parents met with Lynch one-on-one at the U.S. district attorney’s office downtown.

Crawford’s parents said the meeting lasted about 15 minutes. They said Lynch told them she would be investigating his death.

“She would also watch the video. She was candid enough to let us know that she had not seen it, but she will view it herself. She was just briefed about it,” Crawford’s father, John Crawford Jr., said.

Crawford’s family said they are hopeful after meeting with Lynch.

WLWTV reports:

The Crawford family was also at a justice rally outside the Freedom Center when Lynch arrived at the roundtable discussion.

The rally remained peaceful. The small crowd also walked into the Freedom Center with their signs, but eventually walked back outside without incident.

Crawford’s family said they appreciate the support from the community. They said Lynch told them it’s going to take time, but she will investigate their son’s death.

“She was just making sure that we understood that it was a process and we understand that. She said it would move. The process will move and that she will make sure,” John Crawford Jr. said.

Crawford’s mother, Tressa Sherrod, says she appreciated having the opportunity to meet with Lynch privately.

“So we can tell her our thoughts on how we feel about what’s going on,” Sherrod said.

Crawford’s mother says she wants her son’s case to be investigated so they can have some resolution.

“I think it’s a step in the right direction,” Sherrod said after her meeting with Lynch.
