Loc Journey: Self Reflection
We run around trying to choose the right offering to those we love, and enjoy the soirees that come with the season.

In the New Year, we look for a renewed sense of self in every form and make “resolutions” to do so. Those sentiments seem to be placed on shelves as time passes, and we find ourselves not accomplishing what we set out to achieve. I’ve learned that isn’t the way to approach a renewed state of being, in which you intend to alter your life journey. You must commit yourself to the change at hand, and know that you are a moving energy with flaws. These flaws must be expected and accepted, which makes it easier to surrender to the change. This allows the freedom to just be within the space in which you are creating. Embrace what energy comes forth and moves you in the direction in which you’re to walk. Easy to say, but harder to do you say? I’m proof that it can happen at any time within your life, in whatever form it takes shape.
My sense of self has been heightened once I took ahold of my space, surrendered to the energy that lies within. I took notice that my locs have now taken on a different shape and feel, once I reached my three year mark. Within those months that followed, my energy shifted in a more humane association with self. I’m rooting more into health overall that will impact me on a deeper level, and I’m sure in my locs will be reflected.
I look forward to bringing my column forth on a bi-monthly schedule, and and share my life journey with all of you. I would also ask that you ask questions, comment and interact with me. I would love that! In closing I say this, “Be more present within your life, for we only get one”.
