Loc Journey: Self Reflection
As dreadlocks grow longer they begin to grow stronger at the root, if you have taken great care to make sure that the foundation is Strong.
This has been an emotional time in this World amongst all, and although it’s opened up dialogue (once again…) about the racial divide that is constant, the World still turns. There are many balls up in the air with nowhere to land, and as we all “try” and concentrate on one agenda there are many that become invisible. This World wasn’t meant to be a chaotic and full of noise, that you aren’t able to hear, honor the Creator, and feel the energy that surrounds you, that’s within you. We somehow have lost the meaning of our existence somewhere in the “Matrix”.
As dreadlocks grow longer they begin to grow stronger at the root, if you have taken great care to make sure that the foundation is Strong. This is also true for our existence in society and how we move forward and how we shape our future. Building from the foundation that we ideally know the Creator has made known, we’ve chosen to ignore. My mane has gone through this transformation and has shown me the direction in which “it’s” chosen.
The practice of “strategic distraction” is alive and well in this modern society, for we focus our energies on other occurrences and blindly are led, as we walk past the countless others that require our attention. Therefore, we need to practice mindfulness and allow the Creator’s voice to imminent within you to block out the worldly chatter (yes, you may say it’s not possible, but we must try…). The walk that so many of us speak about doing, we must NOW ACT. It’s now important more than EVER!
We must remember that although we are one in vision, we are all very different not only in skin color but at the core. That is a fact of life that we must all embrace, comprehend and move on from. We need to remember that our children and our children’s children, will inherit this Earth that we intend to leave behind for them. What happens in this moment, in this space that we find ourselves occupying, means more to MANY then ever before.
