About JenniFair

Jennifair’s sultry sound and unique style is what automatically caught my attention. The singer-songwriter from the Southside of Chicago, now residing in Brooklyn, NY, says her music stems from her childhood. And that’s evident when I first heard Jennifair.

Jennifair touts as being a studious and devoted music fan with influencers including Sade, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliot, Biggie, Eminem, Kanye West and Jay-Z to name a few.

Jennifair says her pursuing a career in music came natural. She started writing songs at just 14 years old.

Heavily influenced by great creators before her, JenniFair has set out to make her performing arts dreams a reality.

While striving to build a healthy career, JenniFair works hard to create and transfer great energy through timeless music.

In 2015, JenniFair pushed her dreams into overdrive while holding down a fulltime job. The young songstress also landed a spot on

The Dean’s List college tour. Since landing in New York JenniFair has engaged crowds at open mics in just about every borough, and kept a consistent flow of content going for her fans back home, and around the world.

On the Power 30 circuit, JenniFair was honored to perform at the Power 105 Art on Third, and Harlem Hip Hop Festivals.
JenniFair’s compositions are just shy of 300 songs written, and recorded; which is an impressive body of work for such a young artist.

Her stand out qualities includes personality, and discipline; which add value to brand positioning. JenniFair has been picked up by a variety of heavyweight blog sites around the world; including RESPECT Magazine, First Post,2 Dope Boyz, DJ Enuff, Hip Hop Headquarters, and more.

Unheard Voices: When did you fall in love with music?
Jennifair: I fell in love with music when I was a child. My mother and my father had very different tastes in music. I was introduced to everything from The Beatles all the way over to Anita Baker. I woke up singing and went to sleep singing.

Unheard Voices: How would you describe your music?
Jennifair: My music is relatable and universal. Everyone from every walk of life can relate to the things I sing about. I write about my personal experiences and what I see happening around me. It’s the type of music you can feel.

Unheard Voices: What artists have the greatest musical influences on you and your music?
Jennifar: Well my influence changes all the time. I’m inspired by old and new music and music because music always evolves. At the moment, my consistent influences are J. Cole, Brandy, Kanye, and Erykah Badu.

Unheard Voices: What is the hardest challenge you have encountered working full-time while building your fan base?
Jennifair: My hardest challenge would have to be managing time. It really is like having two full time jobs. I literally have no days off. When I’m not at work, I’m still working on growing the fan base. I’m trying to find new ways to connect and network in such a limited amount of time. Before you know it, it’s back to work. It’s exhausting sometimes.

Unheard Voices: How in tune are you with your fans?
Jennifair: I would have to say I’m pretty in tune with my fans. I definitely learned what they love most and what they want to hear from me.

Unheard Voices: Has anyone ever given you negative feedback on your music, if so how did you react to it?
Jennifair: All the time. I take it well. I want the negative feedback just as much as I want the positive feedback. Negative feedback tells you what you need to work on and it helps you grow.

Unheard Voices : How important and how difficult is it to support your career with your own funding?
Jennifair: It’s very important but it’s also very difficult for people who work independently and take care of themselves. Like myself, I have to pay for a roof over my head, bills, and food. It can be very expensive at times.

Unheard Voices: To date, what has been your best performance? When was it, where was it and why is it your best performance?
Jennifair: My best performance was at my video release party for “Pick Up Lines”. It was March 30th at Meridian 23 in New York City. There was so much love in the building that night. It was my first release party in New York. There was so much energy from the audience. It felt great to hear everyone singing the lyrics to my songs.

Unheard Voices: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
Jennifair: I see myself touring internationally, attending awards shows, and enjoying my life with family and friends.

Unheard Voices: Do you have any upcoming shows?
Jennifair: Yes I do. I’ll be performing at Bushwick Public House in Brooklyn, NY Aug 13th and Aug 24th.

Unheard Voices: What` current projects do you have out or forthcoming projects in progress?
-I released a single recently “Pick Up Lines” and you can find that online on all digital media platforms. I’m also finalizing my album “A Tale of 2 Cities” which should be out early fall.

Unheard Voices: How do you feel about the opportunities offered by Reverbnation and its platform?
Jennifair: I think Reverbnation is a great platform for artists. The opportunities are endless and beneficial.

Unheard Voices: In closing, I would like you to leave the Unheard Voices readers words of encouragement and inspiration, especially for those pursuing a career in music and entertainment.
Jennifair: Some days, some weeks, some months, can break you. They can make you feel like you’re wasting your time, make you feel crazy, make you feel like you’re not good enough. We’ve all been there. I’m saying to all of you, keep pushing, keep praying, keep believing in YOU. There is a lane for everyone and things happen when they are supposed to. Don’t stop being yourself and never give up! You got this!
