WBLS Circle of Sisters presented by AARP New York & hosted by Emmis New York’s WBLS-FM 107.5, and WQHT-FM HOT 97, is gearing up for a fun-filled enlightening experience this weekend in New York City.

About Circle of Sisters EXPO

The expo will have vendors and a host of panel discussions including an interview with Robin Roberts, a State of Black America forum with Valerie Castile, mother of Philando Castile; Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner; Wanda Johnson, mother of Oscar Grant; and Benjamin L. Crump, lawyer on the Trayvon Martin case. Followed by a Ready Red Carpet panel with black actors, and a women empowerment panel entitled Women: We Must Protect Ourselves. Starting TODAY!

Food and health

For all you health buffs, the expo will have a HEALTHFIRST CULINARY CORNER with former basketball player John Salley who will share his secrets to staying fit through his vegan diet. He will be joined by Chef Brenda Beener of Seasoned Vegan to share how going vegan is a must for increased athletic performance, longevity, a better environment and simply what is necessary for healthy living.

BBQ Sauce King Bobby Brown adds a new title to his list of credits. Join R&B singer-songwriter, rapper and dancer for his latest venture:  BBQ Sauce King! From recording and reality TV star to creating the perfect BBQ sauce, Bobby kicks it up on our stage.

Healthfirst Chef Nicole Spence is a natural Whole Foods chef who believes that food is our medicine and loves to create beautiful, nourishing, and delicious meals from simple, natural ingredients.

For breakout sessions, they will have: The Color Purple w/ Jennifer Holiday, hosted by Liz Black, “The HustleHer Next Door: She Thinks It.  She Creates It.  She Gets PAID” with WBLS’ Deja Vu, “Mommies & Millennials” w/ WBLS’ Shaila & her daughter, HOT 97’s ScottieBeam.

Circle of Sisters tickets

Tickets for the EXPO are on-sale now.  Tickets are $15 per day in advance, $20 at the door, and can be purchased on CircleofSisters.com.

Discounts

AARP members receive a special ticket discount to Circle of Sisters 2016! Show your membership card at the door and receive a $5 discount on tickets.

AT&T customers can avoid the line and save some time by showing their AT&T device at the event, and EmblemHealth members receive $5 off tickets at the door when they show their membership card!
