Geoffrey Owens has accepted Tyler Perry’s job offer. He will appear in 10 episodes of the Have and Have Nots.
Tyler Perry and Geoffrey Owens to work
The actor, best known as Elvis from The Cosby Show, was job shamed after a photo went viral of him working at a New Jersey Trader Joe’s. Fellow actors and fans rallied behind Owens, showing admiration for his honest work and resilience as a working actor.
Owens no longer works at Trader Joe’s due to unwanted attention. The woman who took the photo later apologized.
TMZ reports:
Sources familiar with the deal tell us joining Tyler is exactly what Geoffrey will do. We’re told he’s going to appear on Perry’s hit, “The Haves and the Have Nots.” Even bigger … it’s not a one shot deal. We’re told he’ll have a recurring role and appear on 10 episodes.
The show — on it’s 6th season — shoots in Atlanta, and we’re told Owens will fly there next week to begin filming.
