The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Asbury Park remembered the lives lost 18 years ago on 9/11 by having a special Ghana session.
Honoring lives lost during 9/11
During this session students in Ghana had a moment of silence for those lost on 9/11 (See the above image).
Ghana students presentation
After the moment of silence, the students from Ghana stated that we honor and pray for those who lost their lives on that terrible day.
In addition to honoring the victims of 9/11, students in Ghana gave Mr. Wronko’s new MLK students a presentation about Ghana’s history, culture, food, sports, and way of life.
One of the sports in Ghana’s presentation, soccer, made a huge connection to the soccer players in Mr. Wronko’s class.
The students at MLK were very pleased with Ghana’s presentation and looking forward to even more in the near future.
Mr. Wronko’s students presentation
Furthermore, once students in Ghana were done with their presentation, Mr. Wronko’s students conducted their presentation regarding 9/11.
Attacks On U.S. Soil presentation
The students shared poems written by the victims and witnesses of 9/11. Also, Mr. Wronko gave all students on both sides a power point presentation on “Attacks On U.S. Soil.”
This presentation showed how the United States overcame challenges on the country’s soil starting with the War of 1812, the attack on Pearl Harbor, and 9/11/01. In addition to the power point presentation, videos on 9/11 were shown along with President Obama’s speech regarding the elimination of the master mind of this horrific event, Osama Bin Laden.
Student meet and greet
After the presentation, students from Ghana and MLK did a meet and greet with each other explaining their favorite hobby.
The presentations and meet and greet showed great unification of people from different countries on the 18th anniversary of 9/11.
PS: Let’s remember and honor those who lost their lives on 9/11 and pray for good medicine for those who are getting sick from working at Ground Zero to this very day.
