In Memoriam : Singer Vesta Williams
R&B diva, Vesta Williams, best known for 1980’s hits “Don’t Blow A Good Thing” and “Congratulations,” has been found dead in a possible drug overdose in a California hotel room, said the coroner Friday. She was 53.

Death details
Williams was found dead at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in an El Segundo hotel room, Los Angeles County coroner’s Capt. John Kades (KAY’-dihs) said.
An autopsy will determine the cause of death. A toxicology examination will take six weeks to be completed, Kades said. — ABC News
About Vesta Williams
Born on Dec. 1, 1957 in Coshocton, Ohio, Williams was known for hits such as “Once Bitten Twice Shy,” ”Sweet, Sweet Love” and “Congratulations,” a story about a woman finding out her man was getting married and through the pain, still wished him the best.
During the mid 1980s and 1990s, Williams had seven Top 20 hits to the U.S. Billboard Chart. Her album “Vesta” in 1986 became a bestseller with hits “Once Bitten” and “Twin Shy”.
Williams was also in the movie industry, playing the part as a saloon singer in the Mario Van Peebles movie “Posse” and she had a recurring role on the television comedy series “Sister, Sister,” playing actress Jackee Harry’s best friend Monica.
