Sunday night, President Barack Obama spoke at an interfaith prayer vigil to honor the victims of the Newtown, Conn. elementary school tragedy.

Sunday night, President Barack Obama spoke at an interfaith prayer vigil to honor the victims of the Newtown, Conn. elementary school tragedy. People across the world watched the president as he comforted residents letting them know “they are not alone”.
During his 17 minute speech addressing the nation on this terrible tragedy, an emotional president made his conviction to ensure this never happens again:
“In the coming weeks, I’ll use whatever power this office holds to engage my fellow citizens, from law enforcement, to mental health professionals, to parents and educators, in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this, because what choice do we have? We can’t accept events like this as routine,” Obama said.
President Obama has met with the families who have been affected by the Newtown tragedy, extending his hand to provide them with whatever they might need.
