Jonathan Ferrell was a 24-year-old former collegiate football player at Florida A&M University living in North Carolina.

Jonathan Ferrell was a 24-year-old former collegiate football player at Florida A&M University living in North Carolina.
On the night of September 14th, Ferrell got into a serious car accident leaving the car so damaged that authorities believed he had to climb out the back window.
Ferrell ran to the closet house for help. A woman opened her door because she thought it was her husband. After realizing it wasn’t, she shut the door on Ferrell, “hit her panic alarm and called 911”.
Ferrell stood outside and continued to get the attention of the homeowner.
Police say when they got to the scene, a man matching the description ran toward them. An officer tried to fire his stun gun but was unsuccessful. Another officer fired several shots at Ferrell.
Reports say Ferrell was shot 10 times.
Ferrell died at the scene. He was unarmed.
Police called Ferrell and Kerrick’s initial encounter “appropriate and lawful.” But in their statement late Saturday, they said “the investigation showed that the subsequent shooting of Mr. Ferrell was excessive” and “Kerrick did not have a lawful right to discharge his weapon during this encounter.”
Officer Randall Kerrick, 27, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter for the shooting and killing of Ferrell.
Here’s another case of the police acting RECKLESS, and yet again killing an INNOCENT unarmed man.
