Popular YouTuber Moses McCormick, who wowed millions of viewers with his ability to speak at least 20 languages, has passed away. He was 39.
Popular YouTuber Moses McCormick, who wowed millions of viewers with his ability to speak at least 20 languages, has passed away.
How did Moses McCormick die?
McCormick died Thursday March 11, due to heart complications, according to a GoFundMe campaign set up by his family. Donations are currently being made in order to have the YouTuber transported from Arizona back to his home state of Ohio.
“Moses Monweal McCormick was a beautiful brother, son, father and friend. He touched the lives of so many all over the world,” the fundraiser states. “His dedication and passion for not only learning but, teaching a plethora of Languages.”
Known as “Laoshu”, a term that translates to “mouse” in Chinese, McCormick was best known for his interactions with foreign-language speakers across the U.S.
YouTuber
McCormick created several videos that went viral of him surprising people with his impeccable language skills. In one, he is seen striking up conversations with strangers in a supermarket in Japanese, Mandarin, and Arabic. The video was titled, “Black man making foreigners feel at home by speaking their language.” It has garnered 23 million views.
Laoshu also created informative videos for those seeking to learn a new language.
Moses McCormick was 39 years old.
