Texas teen beaten by “friends” and left on the side of the road
Kayla Horne said the incident happened in the early morning hours on Sunday, Jan. 19 in Fort Worth, Tx.

An Arlington, Texas teen is recovering after she said she was beaten, robbed and left on the side of the road by friends, reports WFAA ABC 8 News.
Kayla Horne said the incident happened in the early morning hours on Sunday, Jan. 19 in Fort Worth, Tx.
“I thought I was going to die,” Kayla said to the news outlet, recalling the horrowing experience.
What happened to the Texas teen beaten by friends
The 18-year-old said she and another friend, who is also 18, met with a group of people.
Horne said the group started drinking and then went to an after-hours nightclub. She said she didn’t go in because she wasn’t old enough, so she stayed in the car. At one point, Horne said she started to feel sick and threw up in the car. When the group came back, Horne said they were upset.
The teen said one of the girls in the group started randomly attacking her.
“Out of nowhere, one of the girls punched me in my mouth and jaw,” she told the news outlet. “Just kept getting beat on and beat on.”
Horne said the suspects stole her money, phone and jewelry before pushing her out of the car and leaving her on the street.
Suspects face charges
Police said the suspects are facing charges of aggravated robbery, but Horne’s aunt, Jessica Alexis, wants more severe charges.
“I don’t know why they’re not getting charged with more because they tried to kill her,” she said.
As Horne’s face begins to heal, her trust is now broken.
“Something needs to be done,” said Alexis.
