Over the past three months, many great things have taken place at Asbury Park High School. Let’s take a look.

Women’s History Month Guests

During Women’s history month Doris Richardson, VFW veteran, and Denise Martin, the wife to Wilbur V. Martin, met with Mr. David Wronko’s students to discuss the roles women had played in history. From fighting to get the right to vote to joining the military, both guests showed how important women were to the country. Ms. Richardson and Mrs. Martin both acknowledged the great effort that Kamala Harris put forth in trying to become the first woman president. I Knew It! Publications in The Coaster Newspaper and a Broadcasting Program 

Asbury Park High School recently had been featured in three issues of The Coaster. One issue for the month of February, March, and April. The February issue featured awards being given to Dr. Medina, Asbury Park High School principal, and Mr. Wronko from the VFW post. March’s issue dealt with Asbury Park High School starting an Esports program. Finally, the April issue dealt with a broadcasting program being established for the students known as Week in Review. 

The Asbury Park High School Week in Review is a student-led broadcast highlighting the weekly events and happenings at Asbury Park High School. Each week, different students are selected or volunteer to report the news, ensuring a fresh and diverse perspective. Notably, two of our episodes have been bilingual, featuring both English and Spanish to reach a broader audience. This initiative was created by Mrs. Christine Hayes-Schneider, the Student Activity Coordinator, to engage students and keep the school community informed.
