Howard University and FAMU to Kick Off 2025 Season in the Orange Blossom Classic

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Howard and FAMU face off in a highly anticipated rematch at the 2025 Orange Blossom Classic on Aug. 30 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, reigniting their historic rivalry and celebrating HBCU sports legacy.
About the Orange Blossom Classic
The Orange Blossom Classic, originally founded in 1933 by J.R.E. Lee Jr., has long been a cornerstone of HBCU football, showcasing top-tier talent and fostering community pride. After a hiatus, the classic was revived in 2021, bringing back its tradition of excellence and cultural significance.
Howard vs FAMU
Howard University’s Bison, led by head coach Larry Scott, will face off against the FAMU Rattlers, a team with deep roots in the classic’s history. The last time these two teams met in the 2023 Celebration Bowl, FAMU secured a hard-fought 30-26 victory, adding another chapter to their storied rivalry.
“This game is more than just football—it’s about legacy, culture, and the passion of HBCU fans,” said Howard Athletics Director Kery Davis. “We’re excited to showcase our program on a national stage and compete against a formidable opponent like FAMU”.
