Ghana Session: After Testing

After taking the PARCC state assessment, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School students were able to do a special presentation for the students in Ghana.

After taking the PARCC state assessment, Dr Martin Luther King Jr Middle School students were able to do a special presentation for the students in Ghana.

This took place on April 8, 2016. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. students wanted this session to be fun so they conducted research on the following topics:

1. Did ancient aliens help the Egyptians build the Great Pyramids of Giza?

2. In historical texts, were the dragons that were mentioned really dinosaurs?

3. Does Mokele Mbembe exist?

4. What was the significance of Hammurabi’s Code?

5. Dinosaurs of Egypt, the first ancient Egyptians before King Tut.

6. The Battle of Little Big Horn, the massacre of a small force fighting against a huge Native American settlement.

Each topic was presented in the form of a power point presentation. In addition, multiple presentations had videos that enhanced the topic being shown. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. students found that by connecting fiction with history would create a fun presentation and they were right. The following students made this Ghana session possible:
