Chavis Carter’s family wants more qnswers
Chavis Carter’s family is challenging the recently released autopsy report. Carter’s mother, Theresa, doesn’t believe her son was suicidal.

Chavis Carter’s family is challenging the recently released autopsy report by Arkansas State Crime Lab. Carter’s mother, Theresa, doesn’t believe her son was suicidal.
The autopsy report stated that Chavis was on meth when he fatally shot himself in the right temple while his hands were cuffed behind him in the backseat of a patrol car in Arkansas.
The family portrays the 21-year-old as a bright, young man who aspired to be a veterinarian, who liked shopping for sneakers and playing basketball.
“If he did it, I want to know how it happened,” his grandmother, Anne Winters Carter, said in an interview. “And if he didn’t do it, then we want justice.”
As questions swirl about how and why Carter died, his family also has been demanding more answers from authorities.
Jonesboro Police faced harsh criticism, after they allege searching Chavis Carter twice and didn’t find the gun they claim he fatally shot himself with.
The two officers involved are on paid administrative leave as the investigation into Chavis’ shooting death continues.
Chavis Carter’s family continues to seek answers as they hired the famed Johnny Cochran firm to look further into the case.
