Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in the killing of George Floyd ,was released on a million dollar bond Wednesday.

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in the killing of George Floyd ,was released on a million dollar bond Wednesday.
Chauvin, 44, is facing murder and manslaughter charges after video showed him kneeling on Floyd’s neck for about eight minutes during an arrest on May 25.
George Floyd died on Memorial Day after he was pinned down by Chauvin. Body camera footage shows Chauvin kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes
Derek Chauvin released on bond
He was released Wednesday on a conditional release.
Chauvin is expected to appear in court in March of next year, according to his notice of release filed in court.
Bail conditions
Chauvin’s bail conditions
were set in June and included surrendering guns; not working in law enforcement or security; no contact with the victim’s family; and not leaving the state without permission.
