Tyler Perry’s Temptation: Quick Movie Review

Typical in how the movie is going to be run down, which is girl from a small country town, gets married young and moves to the big city with big dreams.
She gets caught up in how life really is outside of her enclosed life in the country, and makes really big mistakes. In the end, ends up alone. Why does this seem to be the same formula for most Black dramas?
For those who haven’t seen the movie, you may not want to read this, but for those who have. Did you have a problem with how this movie was constructed or was it just me?
My biggest question in the end was why did Brandy’s character seem to have her life together despite her health situation, and Jurnee’s character didn’t? I mean, I so understand what she went through physically, but they had her limping and looking a mess in the end. Brandy didn’t look like that.
I’m not bashing Tyler Perry, but the movie trailers had this built up to be the dramatic debut of Perry and it was a let down to some extent. The acting was mediocre at best, and although the storyline was great it could have used a little more punch to it. So soap-opera when it comes down to it.
