Ghana session Asbury Park Middle School

Just recently the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School students along with the students in Ghana had a special session on saving the environment.

Presentations

Environment

The students in Ghana gave a presentation on how recycling and other methods could help save the environment. In addition, the students in Ghana spoke about how to reuse plastic without it being used as garbage. Also they spoke about ways to eliminate the use of plastic.

After their presentation, the students at MLK gave their recommendations about helping out the environment.

Both sides had a very well thought out conversation. Below posted: article which consisted of Ghana’s environmental video,  environmentalist Greta Thunberg talk at TEDx regarding the importance of saving the environment, former vice president Al Gore and his thoughts on saving the environment, and Prince Charles’ thoughts on the environment.

Loch Ness Monster

Besides saving the environment, Mr. Wronko gave the students in Ghana a presentation on Frank Searle’s and Robert Rines pictures of the Loch Ness Monster. The discussion was based on whether or not these photographs were fake or not. The overall question remained, was this creature real. Also Mr. Wronko brought up his sighting at Lake Champlain of the monster Champ and Adrian Shine’s hunt for the Loch Ness Monster. Mr. Wronko and Adrian Shine had an email exchange about the possibility of the monster being real. Furthermore, Mr. Wronko also shared with the students from Classroom Close-up the picture of the Argentinosaurus from the Museum of Natural History. Mr. Wronko stated that this creature was so huge it extended to outside the room that the body was in. Adding to the Argentinosaurus, Mr. Wronko showed one of his adds from the Cretaceous Warzone which was a student project making dream matches of creatures from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous.

Star Wars

Just a couple of days ago, Mr. Wronko along with science teacher of the MLK, Mr. Tim Mason, did a Star Wars Ghana Session. The students in Ghana gave a presentation on their favorite characters from the Star Wars series. In addition, Mr. Wronko did some role playing by dressing up as Kylo Ren and Darth Vader.

Below presented: multiple images from the environment and Star Wars sessions. In addition, additional images from Classroom Close-up with Star Wars and go see Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker. Pictures of me as Kylo Ren with Darth Vader were taken by Mr. Tim Mason, science teacher, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School, Asbury Park New Jersey.

Below were three postings.

The first two from Jersey Voices Magazine.

The first showed the dialogue between me and monster hunter Adrian Shine.

The second, my former student was there when president Barack Obama was sworn in.

The third post showed my experince at Lake Champlain.

Isaura Vazquez, my student, wrote this amazing essay on the Freedom of Speech. This essay was placed in an essay contest. I think she could win.

What does freedom of speech mean to me?
What the freedom of speech means to me is freedom to fight for something you believe to be right. It is a tool that you can use for your rights. It is a power you can use against others. In my opinion, freedom of speech is great because you use your words to fight in conflict instead of using violence. I feel like speaking and using words in an argument that involves something big like a city, town, or maybe the whole world is more professional. Protesting is a great technique to use when the government wants to take something away from us.

For example, the Dream Act. Why would the government want to take something away from us that has already been established for so long? So, a great way to fight for the DACA is by protesting and using our strong words and create a speech. Some people need to learn to use words and not violence.
You also want to make sure you use your words correctly. You want to use words that show a strong argument with strong words. You don’t want to use certain words that will create a weak argument. For instance, if the police falsely accuse you of a crime, you can use the words in the fourth amendment by telling them you have” No probable cause, “or evidence.

In conclusion, freedom of speech is a great tool. It uses no violence and you just fight with your words. Some people in history have solved great big problems in the world just by using the freedom of Speech. If all of us could learn how to use the freedom of speech, we could probably solve many problems. In my opinion the freedom of speech and protesting with words is better for the world.
