Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was stabbed to death in the Rotterdam section of the Netherlands this weekend.

Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was stabbed to death in the Rotterdam section of the Netherlands this weekend. He was 24 years old.

His own brother was arrested for the murder, police said.

Police officers were called to the home in the Dutch port city early Monday morning and found Halman bleeding from a stab wound, said police spokeswoman Patricia Wessels.

Officers attempted to resuscitate Halman, however was unsuccessful.

Wessels said the officers arrested the 22-year-old brother but declined to give his name according to Dutch privacy rules.
