“Awe Mah” was recorded in Durban and developed through a collaborative studio process. The song has circulated on TikTok for several months through user‑generated clips, which increased visibility ahead of the official release. The single features an upbeat, dance‑focused sound consistent with current South African youth music trends.
Nxumalo said the early online traction shaped her expectations for the release. “This one has been sitting with the people for months,” she said.
