Spring Break Post: Cretaceous Warzone on classroom Close-Up/Ghana Session: Star Wars, Marvel, DC/Godzilla vs Kong Observation

During my spring break, I had the opportunity to watch Project Ghana on Classroom Close-up. I forgot to mention that I had my project, the Cretaceous Warzone on the show. I started this project in 2008 in which I allowed my students to create dream matchups between prehistoric creatures from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous period. During this segment of Classroom Close-up, I spoke about my visit to the Museum of Natural History and how big the Argentinosaurus was. Then I shared with the audience a dream matchup between three Argentinosaurus’ and T-Rex with a Giganotosaurus. However, due to time restrictions, this project was edited down to just a few seconds. However, I enjoyed the idea that a project that I started was on television.

PROJECT GHANA 

Just recently I had a video conference with the students at the Solid Rock Foundation School in Ghana. The topic of the session was superheroes. To make this session more interesting for the students I showed them numerous clips from recent shows that involved the topics of Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. MY OBSERVATIONS ON GODZILLA VS KONG

I recently saw Godzilla vs Kong directed by Adam Wingard. I really liked this movie. (If you have not seen this movie, do not read any further.)

My observations of this movie:

1. Godzilla vs Kong had brought back the movie industry from this pandemic and gave hope for the future.
2. King Kong vs Godzilla and Godzilla vs Kong had some similarities. The first, in King Kong Vs Godzilla Kong shoved a tree down Godzilla’s throat. In Godzilla vs Kong, Kong used the end of his battle ax to shove down Godzilla’s throat.
3. In King Kong vs Godzilla, Kong was airlifted by helicopters and air balloons. In Godzilla vs Kong, Kong was airlifted by helicopters and a net.
4. In King Kong vs Godzilla, Kong judo flipped Godzilla. In Godzilla vs Kong, Godzilla judo flipped Kong.
5. In King Kong vs Godzilla, Kong was revived by lighting. In Godzilla vs Kong, Kong was revived again by a ship’s explosion.
6. The Snyder cut of Justice League had Wonder Woman cutting Steppenwolf’s head off. In Godzilla vs Kong, Kong chopped Mechagodzilla’s neck with an his ax and then pulling his head off.
7. In the majority of Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla films there was always a fire breath vs a fire breath scene. Godzilla vs Kong also had it when Godzilla took on Mechagodzilla in a very unique form.
8. In one of the Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla films, Mechagodzilla was possessed by the original Godzilla who was killed by the Oxygen Destroyer. In Godzilla vs Kong, Mechagodzilla became possessed by King Ghidorah.
9. Godzilla vs Kong paying homeage to the original King Kong movie with Kong in chains.
10. Godzilla vs Kong had a three way battle with Godzilla and Kong teamed up against Mechagodzilla. This was similar to the time Godzilla and a monster by the name of King Caesar teamed up against Mechagodzilla.
11. Three may have lost the fight but had huge impacts in their movies. Superman lost to Batman but destroyed Doomsday. Ironman lost to Captain America but defeated Thanos and his entire army. Kong lost to Godzilla but Kong saved Godzilla and destroyed Mechagodzilla.
12. On a final note, PLEASE MAKE GODZILLA AND KONG VS SHIN GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
