Christy Knowings, former ‘All That’ Star, dies at 46

Christy Knowings, a former Nickelodeon child star known for her work on All That, has died at age 46 after complications from a severe asthma attack, her family told TMZ.

Knowings was hospitalized on Aug. 7 at a Los Angeles‑area hospital. Doctors placed her on life support after the attack caused significant brain damage. Her family removed her from life support several days later, and she died Tuesday.

Christy Knowings Star On Nickelodeon’s hit sketch series All That

A Bronx native and twin sister of actor Chris Knowings, she joined All That during Season 4. Knowings appeared in more than 30 episodes between 1997 and 2000 and became one of the show’s standout performers. She quickly became known for sharp comedic timing and memorable characters. Her roles included Jessica in the recurring “Whateverrr!!!” sketches and Brenda Stone in the show’s parody news segments.

Because of her versatility, Knowings often anchored ensemble scenes. Castmates said she helped shape the show’s late‑1990s identity.

After news of her death, former castmates shared tributes online. Kenan Thompson called her “one of the funniest people out here” and said her loss “hit hard.”

“Man this one hit hard!!!” Thompson wrote on Facebook.. “Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!!”

Work beyond Nickelodeon

Knowings also appeared in one episode of New York Undercover in 1994. Later, she performed in three episodes of Sesame Street from 2008 to 2011. She released a folk‑inspired single, “To the World,” in 2020, according to her IMDb page.

Her death marks another loss for fans of All That this year, which remains a defining show for many who grew up in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Kianna Underwood, an actress on All That, passed away after a hit and run in Brooklyn earlier this year in January.
