OWN rings in the holidays with three new festive films for 2025

OWN is bringing 2025 holiday cheer back to screens with the seventh annual “OWN For the Holidays” movie event.

About OWN For the Holidays 2025
This year’s lineup features a vibrant mix of beloved stars and rising talent. Loretta Devine, Tristan Mack Wilds, Kiki Layne, Amber Stevens West, Obba Babatundé, Etienne Maurice, Corbin Reid, Ashleigh Murray, and Carla Renata headline the festive slate.
OWN President Tina Perry emphasized the network’s commitment to inclusive storytelling. “From the beginning, OWN has led the way in creating holiday movies that reflect the lives, families, and traditions of Black audiences,” Perry said. “This year’s premieres continue our commitment to stories that celebrate love, laughter, and the joy of togetherness”.
Premiere Schedule
“Fake Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” – Saturday, Nov. 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Kiki Layne stars as Maya, a reserved professor who fakes a relationship with a stranger. Her lie entangles her in the stranger’s family holiday plans. Sparks fly when she reconnects with her ex, Daniel (Etienne Maurice), who is also the stranger’s doctor.
“The Christmas Showdown” – Saturday, Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Amber Stevens West and Corbin Reid play former best friends vying for the same event design job. Loretta Devine plays Hen, the producer overseeing the Sugar Heights Christmas Eve Spectacular. To succeed, the women must reconcile and collaborate.
“Very Merry Mystery” – Saturday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Ashleigh Murray stars as Bea, a beloved beauty shop owner in Goldfern, Georgia. When a Christmas party turns into a whodunit, Bea teams up with her detective boyfriend Troy (Tristan Mack Wilds) to solve the case.
All three films are produced by FOX Entertainment Studios for OWN. The network continues to expand its holiday catalog, now totaling 25 original festive titles.
