In Sept. 2009, Tyler Perry announced he would be producing and directing the film adaption of the Ntozake Shange’s 1975 For Colored Girls.
In September 2009, Tyler Perry announced he would be producing and directing the 2010 film adaption of the Ntozake Shange’s 1975 For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.
The film was originally planned for a 2010 release, but later moved to January 14, 2011. However, it was moved back to November 5th, 2010, with Tyler Perry commenting that it was “a serious film that really lends itself to the fall period.”
The cast stars Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Loretta Devine, Kimberly Elise, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad, Kerry Washington, and Thandie Newton. Check out the promotional pictures. For Colored Girls hits theaters November 5th, 2010.
