Asbury Park High 2026: Award Recognition
Last December Wilbur V. Martin, Mrs. Martin, and George Reed stopped by Asbury Park High School to give VFW Citizenship Education Awards to Mr. David Wronko, history teacher, and Principal Dr. Perry Medina. They also gave Maria Riano Cruz a cash award for her participation and 3rd place achievement for the Voice of Democracy.
Asbury Park High School 2026: Power Point presentations
Besides award recognition, honor student Semaj Reid presented two power point presentations based on two major current events:
- the assassination of JFK
- the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
In late November, the country remembered the assassination of JFK. The assassination took place on November 22, 1963. Then a few weeks later was the remembrance of Pearl Harbor which took place on December 7, 1941.
Veterans share experiences
VFW veterans shared their experiences after Semaj finished his presentations, describing their childhood during the bombing of Pearl Harbor and their military stations during the assassination of JFK.
Crossing of the Delaware River
Mr. Wronko led a class discussion after the VFW veterans left, focusing on the upcoming celebration of Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River to surprise the Hessian soldiers.
AI video
To have fun with the Delaware Crossing Mr. Wronko and his tech team put together a series of AI videos to show Washington battling and using prehistoric creatures before and during his attack on Hessian Soldiers. More videos could be seen on the Cretaceous Warzone YouTube link:

Esports Poster
Azull Vargas-Cruz created this artistic poster for the Esports Club at Asbury Park High School. The poster was designed to catch not only students interest but also encourage others from outside the district to come be a part of this club. Already this club had launched gaming competition as well as had students work on Unreal Engine.
