The father of influencer Ashlee Jenae, also known as Ashly Robinson, has launched a GoFundMe campaign after the influencer’s death in Tanzania.
The father of influencer Ashlee Jenae, also known as Ashly Robinson, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family cover funeral expenses and bring her home following her sudden death in Tanzania.
GoFundMe Launched for Ashlee Jenae’s Family
Ashlee Jenae died on April 10 after being found unconscious at a resort villa in Zanzibar. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she passed away the following day. Her father, Harry Robinson, created the fundraiser to manage what he described as “unexpected expenses” tied to transporting her remains and navigating an ongoing international investigation.
The GoFundMe campaign has a $50,000 goal. According to the fundraiser description, donations will support:
- Travel arrangements
- Funeral and burial costs
- Administrative and investigative expenses overseas
- Other unexpected financial burdens during the repatriation process
As of the latest update, the campaign had raised approximately $25,000.
Investigation Continues in Tanzania
Local authorities in Zanzibar reported that Jenae may have died by suicide after an argument with her fiancé, Joe McCann, during their trip. Police said hotel staff intervened and separated the couple into different rooms before she was later found unresponsive.
However, her family strongly disputes the suicide claim. Her mother, Yolanda Denis Endres, told WPVI that her daughter had never shown signs of self‑harm and was excited about her birthday trip and engagement.
TMZ also reported that police are still examining the circumstances surrounding her death, and no official cause has been confirmed. Authorities have acknowledged the dispute between Jenae and McCann as part of the active investigation.
Loved Ones Seek Answers
According to Fox 29, Jenae’s family says they have not heard from McCann since her death, which they described as unusual. They continue to call for clarity from Tanzanian authorities and have expressed frustration over conflicting early reports.
Her father wrote that the family is focused on “bringing Ashlee home with dignity” while seeking answers about what happened during her final hours.
