OWN greenlights ‘Put a Ring on It: Cheathab’ for two more seasons ahead of finale

LOS ANGELES — OWN has ordered two additional seasons of its breakout unscripted relationship series Put a Ring on It: Cheathab, giving the franchise 16 new episodes ahead of its season one finale on Sept. 25. The network announced the renewal Friday, saying production will begin this fall for a 2027 premiere.

The series follows long‑term couples confronting infidelity inside the “Cheathab House,” where they face past betrayals, unresolved questions and new temptations. OWN said the show has quickly become a Friday‑m night hit among African American women since its July 31 premiere.

OWN reported that Put a Ring on It: Cheathab is averaging a 1.49 L3 rating among African American women ages 25–54. The series ranks among the top freshman unscripted cable shows this year in key demos and currently holds the No. 2 spot among original unscripted cable series on Friday nights for AA women 25–54, trailing only OWN’s Belle Collective.

Tina Perry, president of OWN, said the series brought “urgency and unpredictability” to the franchise while staying rooted in themes of trust, healing and second chances. She added that viewers responded strongly to the new format.

Couples Confront Infidelity and Temptation

In each episode, couples rocked by cheating move into the Cheathab House and agree to date other people, including former flings and past love interests. Under the guidance of relationship coach Dr. Stacii Jae Johnson, they navigate jealousy, heartbreak and difficult truths before deciding whether to “put a ring on it” or walk away.

Dr. Stacii, described as a “powerhouse relationship expert” in the release, leads workshops designed to rebuild trust and force accountability. She is known for her direct and transformation‑driven approach to modern love.

Season Finale Set for Sept. 25

The season finale, titled “The Final Decision,” airs Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. OWN said the couples will face their biggest tests yet as counseling uncovers doubts and emotions intensify. As they shop for rings and gowns, each pair must decide whether their relationship can survive.

A new episode, “For Love or Money?”, airs Sept. 18 and features final dates before the couples make their decisions. One man promises a major change, while another faces an ultimatum that could unravel his relationship.

The series is produced by Will Packer Media and Blink49 Studios. OWN said the renewal reflects strong viewer engagement and the network’s commitment to expanding its unscripted slate.
