Father blasts parents for publicly shaming kids online
A father records a video on why parents shouldn’t publicly shame their kids online.
A father is blasting parents for recent viral videos disciplining their children.
Many of these videos are going viral. They appear to try to prove a point to them, and doing so in a public manner.
Well, one father isn’t all too hyped about it. And he records a video to prove his point.
The video starts with Wayman Gresham standing over his son with a pair of clippers in his hand. Everyone assumes an awful haircut is on deck.
Gresham described the ways that he had taught his son Isiah how to behave properly and to do “the right thing.”
But then Gresham flips the script.
“There’s no way I would ever embarrass my son like that,” Gresham said.
“It doesn’t take all of that,” Gresham continues. “Good parenting starts before he even gets to the point of being out of control. It is getting up in the middle of the night, getting up in the middle of the night and praying for your child. Good parenting is letting your child know that you love them, regardless of what they are and who they are and showing them the way by example.”
Gresham posted the video Wednesday on his Facebook page. As of Friday afternoon, it has been viewed more than 10.5 million times.
“It’s time for me to discipline my kid the tough way! Why? I don’t play that!”
